WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2004, Build Change is an innovative nonā€profit social enterprise whose mission is to save lives in earthquakes and hurricanes. We do that by designing disaster-resistant houses and schools; training homeowners, builders, engineers and government officials to build them; working with governments to develop and implement building standards; partnering with the private sector to improve building materials quality and create jobs; and facilitating access to incentive-based capital for reconstruction and retrofitting by partnering with financing institutions and government subsidy programs.

YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY

As Country Director, you will lead Build Change’s operations in the Philippines. You will deliver on scope, schedule and budget for Build Change’s pre- and post-disaster programs in the Philippines, including Build Change’s innovative pre-disaster retrofitting (structural strengthening) program for vulnerable houses. You will have the opportunity to guide this program as it scales up through public and private sector partners providing financing for home retrofitting, towards Build Change’s strategic organizational objective of impacting 250,000 safer houses in the next five years.

You will lead Build Change’s fund and partnership development for the Philippines, developing and managing partnerships with philanthropic funders, multilateral institutions, government agencies and the disaster risk financing and insurance sector. You will supervise the in-country management team, and serve as Build Change’s fiscal and legal representative in the Philippines.

As a member of Build Change’s global senior management team, you will contribute to strategic planning and budgeting and foster collaboration across other country programs focused on disaster prevention, as well as with global technical, technology and marketing support departments.
