YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY

Build Change is seeking an experienced, innovative, and outgoing Fund Development Officer in the Philippines with a proven track record of raising funds, winning contracts, building partnerships and brand recognition. The successful candidate should have documented success in researching, positioning, writing and winning technical grant and contract proposals for donors such as National and International Philanthropic Foundations,  public and private contracts and grants as well as multilateral and international INGOs. This position is based in Metro Manila, The Philippines and reports to the Philippines Country Director, with close interaction with the Global Fund Development Team. The main focus of this position will be to raise funds for Build Change’s initiatives in the Philippines, both in post disaster and prevention programs. 

Responsibilities include:
Work with the fund development team to develop, diversify and execute Build Change’s fundraising strategy and plan for the Philippines, to meet and exceed fundraising goals, in the range of $1 -3 Million USD per year, and 2-3 new corporate or government partners per year. 
Perform grant and award research, cultivation, positioning, and proposal writing for unrestricted funding from foundations, high net worth individuals (HWNIs), corporations and other agencies.
Perform research, cultivation, positioning, and proposal writing for program funding from partner agencies for Build Change’s Philippines program. 
Work with The Country Director to Prepare and submit fund development pipeline reports and partnership tracking reports.
Work closely with the rest of the program management team to produce on-time, high quality grant and progress reports.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
You have:
  • A degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Your experience includes:
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in a similar position with demonstrated fundraising and Business development achievements. 
  • Fundraising for an international non-profit social enterprise or similar private sector business, with a proven record of winning grants and contracts and exceeding fundraising or business development goals.
  • Partnership development with different stakeholders within the international development sector, philanthropies and/or corporate donors. 
You are able to:
  • Understand , communicate, and develop strategic relations with different stakeholders, and funders in the housing and development sectors.
  • Have outgoing interpersonal skills, high energy level, and ability to speak persuasively in front of large and small groups. 
  • Tailor your communication style to the audience you are communicating with.
  • Travel as needed.
You would describe yourself as:
  • Optimistic, flexible, humble, patient, and having a good sense of humor.
  • Fully fluent in English both oral and written.
