YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY


Build Change is seeking an experienced and energetic Diversity Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us expand our worldwide team of experts.  The Diversity Talent Acquisition Specialist will be part of our Global Operations Team and will work closely with HR and Build Change leadership to research, refine and implement effective sourcing, recruiting, and hiring strategies to attract a diverse pool of top-notch talent for the organization. This position reports to the HR Manager. 
 
Responsibilities:
The Diversity Talent Acquisition Specialist develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process, with highlights as follows:
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions, along with screening and hiring criteria.
  • Sources talent with a lens towards diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Posts and disseminates job ads on job boards targeting specific audiences based on position, location, and need. 
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective diversity recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Leads the interview process, attending and conducting (as appropriate) 1:1 screening interviews and interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manages and tracks all applicants and their respected roles. Maintains recruitment files with applicant information. Updates the recruitment tracker(s) and presents information to hiring managers when needed.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Checks candidates’ references and credentials, verifying experience and background.
  • Counsels candidates on the interview and hiring process.
  • Follows up with clients or hiring managers after the interview process to determine whether a placement can be made; collects feedback when placement is unsuccessful.
  • Arranges meeting locations, travel, and/or accommodations for applicants and company managers when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
Your skillset includes:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for the recruitment of diverse talent for a variety of roles, with a focus on (and track record of) effective diversity hiring strategies.
  • Excellent time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems; experience with Applicant Stack preferred. 
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
You have:
  • At least five years’ experience managing all phases of the recruitment process with a focus on diversity hiring and/or recruiting for non-profit or development organizations. 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, is required.

  • Are a member of SHRM or another large Human Resources professional network.
  • Are experienced and familiar with employment laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Have worked for a development-focused non-profit, global non-profit, or for an engineering or manufacturing firm.
