Founded in 2004, Build Change is a nonā€profit social innovator whose mission is to greatly reduce deaths, injuries and economic losses caused by housing and school collapses due to earthquakes, extreme weather, and fire. Our global experience shows that home improvement programs focused on improving existing housing can be carried out successfully across a range of country and disaster contexts. To do this, we implement programs that are both economically and socially sustainable.

Our approach looks beyond construction and engineering to create an environment in which people want to improve the safety of their homes, and in which it is possible and affordable for them to do so. Systems change can only be achieved by overcoming the major barriers to success for resilient housing programs, which include People, Money, and Technology. Build Change is currently active in South East Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, South America, and the United States.

Build Change is the recipient of multiple awards, including a 2017 Skoll Foundation Award for Social Entrepreneurship, 2016 OpenIDEO Urban Resilience Challenge Winner, and was a top-three finalist in IBM’s inaugural Call for Code Developer Challenge in 2018.


Build Change is seeking an accomplished Product Marketing Consultant with experience in software applications (SaaS/PaaS) to support a short-term project. The overall objective of this project is to inform the launch of a technology application Build Change has developed in order to ensure it effectively reaches the target market.

The consultant is expected to familiarize themselves with the product, its positioning, and target market (and segments) through working with the Build Change technology and program teams. The consultant will report to the Director of Application Development.


Lead the creation of key product branding collateral and the visual identity including:

  • Product name
  • Product logo
  • Product tagline
  • Visual & copy identity:
    • Typography
    • Example print & web styles/components.
    • Iconography style

Payment Schedule

  • Upon receipt and approval of draft deliverables: 40%
  • Upon receipt and approval of final deliverable: 60%



You have:

  • Proven expertise and success in technology product marketing.
  • Experience in branding, copy and graphics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the social impact and disaster risk reduction sector is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

You would describe yourself as:

  • Optimistic, flexible, humble, patient, and having a good sense of humor.
  • Fluent in English.

And maybe you also:   

  • have worked in the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia or emerging nations.
  • speak Spanish, French or any of the languages spoken in our program countries.
