WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2004, Build Change is an innovative international nonā€profit social enterprise whose mission is to save lives in earthquakes and hurricanes. We do that by designing disaster-resistant houses and schools; training homeowners, builders, engineers and government officials to build them; working with governments to develop and implement building standards; partnering with the private sector to improve building materials quality and create jobs; and facilitating access to incentive-based capital for reconstruction and retrofitting by partnering with financing institutions and government subsidy programs.

YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY
As the Part-Time Bookkeeper, you will report to the Controller of Build Change, an experienced CPA. You are prepared to completely and accurately record the financial transactions of the organization. You are excited about the opportunity to work for a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping others globally.
 

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain records of all financial transactions by posting transactions in the QuickBooks software program
  • Maintain subsidiary records for leases, prepaids and accruals
  • Update annual depreciation schedule
  • Maintain historical records by filing/scanning documents
  • Ensure proper approval on all documentation is received and filed per Company Signature Authority Matrix
  • Other duties as assigned

 

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

You have:

  • Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks software
  • Knowledge and experience with Excel and Google Sheets
  • Accounting/bookkeeping education and or experience

You are able to:

  • Be flexible and are open to feedback
  • Work approximately 3 days per week – with some flexibility

You would describe yourself as:

  • Drama-free, optimistic, humble, patient, and having a good sense of humor
  • Fluent in English
And maybe you also:
  • Speak Spanish, French or any of the languages spoken in our program countries
