YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY 

The Manager of Information Technology will manage Build Change’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of technical support service as we grow and expand the reach of our mission. You will have the opportunity to plan, establish, manage IT projects, and will serve as a liaison between the business and the technical aspects of Build Change’s IT infrastructure.  You will provide guidance and overall direction to Build Change’s software and hardware tools. The Manager of IT will also have the opportunity to work with the CEO, President, senior management team, and global staff on technology strategy, applications and software development. You are highly organized, manage quick or shifting deadlines well, and have expertise with systems and software. 

This position reports to the President. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Leads development and implementation processes for Build Change’s IT Systems.
  • Manages the structure of Build Change’s software and hardware systems.
  • Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
  • Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize the disruption to operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
  • Oversees security of systems, networks, and Build Change’s information. 
  • Ensure that Build Changes IT infrastructure is well-planned, operates seamlessly to support the organization’s global and country needs, including business development, CRM, project management, accounting, website and communications, etc.
  • Facilitates IT security audits and investigations.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Manages assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
  • Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
  • Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, and realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to Build Change staff and stakeholders.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare IT status reports. 
  • Responsible for developing and implementing Build Change’s cybersecurity policy, protocols, and practices. 
  • Maintenance and oversight of Build Change’s Website or any other platforms used. 


Other Responsibilities
Opportunity-dependent:

  • Work from home, while collaborating with colleagues located around the world (Asia, Europe, Africa, North America and South America).
  • Travel, when necessary (no more than 25% of your time on average), to support Build Change’s field programs and ensure consistent implementation of our IT policies.
  • Support business development efforts to develop and maintain information technology components in concepts and proposals.
  • Perform additional duties as required by your supervisor.


OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
You have
:

  • At least five years’ experience managing IT operations for a global organization.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science-related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Your experience includes:
  • Organizational-level experience with software and hardware management and procurement.
  • IT support to decentralized and international teams and traveling team members.
  • Help desk, HR and Finance software, or shared work experience is a plus. 
  • Rolling out and ensuring the maintenance of website improvements and web portals.
  • Ability to work with de-localized teams, including team members in similar and very different time zones.


You would describe yourself as:

  • High emotional intelligence, optimistic, flexible, humble, patient, and having a good sense of humor.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Consistent in meeting deadlines and achieving goals and deliverables on time.
  • Fluent in English.


And maybe you also:    

  • Have worked in the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia or emerging nations.
  • Speak Spanish or any of the languages spoken in our program countries. 
  • Have experience successfully developing, rolling out, and IT infrastructure in emerging nations.
