Construction supervision is a critical task for retrofitting, as it ensures that seismic resistant elements are being built properly. Considering the high volume of buildings that need an intervention and the cost of high skilled labor to perform supervision, Build Change has envisioned a digitized solution for automated quality assurance to assist homeowners and builders to engage in the construction supervision and monitoring process, and ensure a safe construction of their house. ISAC (Intelligent Supervision Assistant for Construction) will be a mobile app functionality that performs quality checks on particular construction activities, using photos of construction elements. As Machine Learning Engineer, you will develop and deploy machine learning and image processing solutions to carry out the quality checks.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and implement computer vision and image processing algorithms to carry out quality checks of construction elements from images
- Develop and implement computer vision algorithms for object detection, classification, segmentation, or recognition
- Collaborate with team members on developing computer vision systems starting from prototype to production
- Keep up with state-of-the-art methods in computer vision and deep learning to improve the platform
- Supervise the data acquisition process if more data is needed
- Find available datasets online that could be used for training
- Define the preprocessing or feature engineering to be done on a given dataset
- Define data augmentation pipelines
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
You have:
- advanced skills in Python
- strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Your experience includes:
- at least 3 years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, image processing, and computer vision
- computer vision related experience and/or courses, image processing, image classification, segmentation, object recognition, CNN, RNN, etc.
- experience with computer vision or deep learning frameworks and libraries, e.g. OpenCV, PyTorch, Keras, Tensorflow, scikit-image
You would describe yourself as:
- drama-free, optimistic, flexible, humble, patient, and having a good sense of humor
- fluent in English
And maybe you also:
- have a working knowledge of Spanish, which is preferable
